Conventional plant protein isolates are routinely denatured by heat and harsh chemicals. The resulting powders meet analytical purity numbers yet carry off-flavors, poor solubility, and limited functionality. Formulators then reach for masking agents, high-intensity sweeteners, gums, whitening agents, and texturizers to hide those defects. Labels grow longer, costs rise, and clean-label claims become harder to defend.

Community BioRefinery’s mild aqueous process, developed with USDA collaboration and independently verified, yields isolates at 90 percent or higher protein that remain fully non-denatured. The protein stays in its native conformation, supplies all nine essential amino acids (including the branched-chain amino acids), and is essentially tasteless and odorless at normal use levels. Solubility, emulsification, foaming, and water- and oil-holding capacity are markedly improved, so the need for corrective additives drops sharply.

Because the protein is recovered intact under gentle conditions, it functions as a true whole-food complete isolate rather than a stripped or damaged concentrate. Buyers are no longer satisfied with high Kjeldahl numbers alone; they want ingredients that taste clean, perform without heavy processing aids, and support complete-protein claims. An intact, non-denatured isolate occupies a stronger commercial position precisely because it removes the limitations that conventional products force manufacturers to cover up.
